Vectra C 2.2 Direct Noisy Engine inc Vid

My Vectra C 2.2 Direct (54 Plate - 59k miles) now sounds like a tank as of a few weeks ago, see video below.

The noise is loud on start up, dies off a bit after ten seconds or so then comes back even louder once engine reaches temperature. On acceleration the power is no longer smooth and is sluggish under acceleration. When stationary in traffic the car sounds and feels like its about to stall/die any second (doesn't). Noise appears in rhythm with accelerator.
Had differing suggestions of hydraulic lifters and cam chain etc.
Cam chain was replaced around this time last year (8k ago), and the engine does not sound as clicky as videos of other members who have required chains.

Any suggestions/advice would be greatly received.

Timing chain! Sounds just like mine when mine went 🙁

If it was replaced only 8k ago i would take it back to the place you bought it. Could also be oil pump not providing enough pressure for the tensioner and/or tensioner itself.

Mine used to sound exactly the same but only when starting a warm engine and then only for a few seconds. I Flushed it and refilled with 10w40 and its been fine for the last 3 years. However if the noise continued I would have had the chain replaced ASAP.

Had engine flush and oil change last week and if anything is worse!!
