Last night i got a phone call at half 10 .....

my dad phoned me to tell me he has brought a ......Saab 9-3 Convertible 2002 plate , with front end damage.

Easy fix according to him "new headlight front bumper and fog lights " :problem:

I know its not going to be as simple as that !!!

Not sure yet what engine it is but i know its a 2.0 t auto

Hopefully get it towed to my mates garage for Wednesday so i can see how bad it is 🙂

Fingers crossed its not too bad as i havent got the time to throw at it ! :thumbup:

Sounds like a decent project. Would be nice if it was the HOT version of the 9-3

also take into account saab production line has been suspended indefinitely so no idea on availability & price of parts

i do like saab 93 though man and i wanted 2.2 aero turbo !

By hot do you mean 2004-2007 I've got my eye on one now so the astra might be going 🙁 !!!

Mike luckily I've already got parts pretty much sorted as I know someone who's breaking one so it shouldn't be too bad .

I had a look at a silver convertable 9-3 HOT when I was initially looking at getting rid of the Vectra.

Right little update , cars been towed it's now in the garage wing is repairable drives well gear changes are smooth engine very clean parts should be sorted in a few days ( although trying to pick up an aero bumper to make it a bit nicer so that could take a tiny bit longer )

Wing is repaired , bumper is being sprayed hopefully tuesday so fingers crossed everything is fixed by the end of the week , missing 1 grill but not going to worry about that !

When im back from holiday its time for a nice test drive ! showo..

My mates garage has been really busy , sadly the saab got pushed to the back (my dad wasn't worried about timing )untill last friday ,so it was all put back together and then was MOT'd today but failed on front shocks , parts have been ordered ( £91 each ) and will be retested tomorrow .

Hopefully get it to the DVLA on thursday to get the work signed off.

Might pinch it off him for the weekend if the suns shining !

I will update with before and after images in the next few days (before pics on my digi cam but i literally have no idea where it is right now )

My old man hAS A 06 PLATE SAAB 9-3 1.9tid Victor tbh thats pritty quick the way it pulls off the line :shock: I drove it to give it a service up my mates and my old man said wht it you'll be surprised when you put your foot down (Knows me to well lmao) and ow yes i was i swear they are demons :evil:

Going to be at least 9 days till the DVLA will let us book an appointment 🙁

Like a pheonix , it has risen from its ashes .... 😃 In total this whole project has cost £2150 that includes purchase of car , all spares , repair work , MOT, new front suspension and DVLA testing .

I only need to get a "SE" badge and its complete !

Now im going to clean it on sunday if i get time, if not monday . My question is how the hell to clean the roof , i have some Auto Glym stuff for it but havent read anything about it, shall i foam the roof or avoid it ?

That looked an easy enough repair, Not that much damage. The car has turned out great, nice car :thumbup:

I've foamed the wife's SMART fabric roof before, and just agitated it with a brush.

My Dad is officially a retard ! he was going on about him needing to take it to the DVLA when infact it was VOSA he phoned the DVLA to see if they had cashed the cheque and they pretty much laughed at him . He send a cheque to DVLA and the form when it should of been VOSA , so ive sorted this all out for him as he would prob send it to the DVLA again .

Filled out a form for VOSA and we should be getting the next available appointment for it very shortly so hopefully it will be on the road soon rather than sitting on the drive .

Well as of Monday this is signed off to drive , so me and my dad took it for a casual drive up to Stourport-on-Severn (where i got my gem of a new car )

Car pulls off very well he is very happy with it , Sports button is fun too !!! we had an incident just after the m5 with the roof but it was me messing around with these tags to make the boot space bigger earlier in the day :problem: and it would apear this was the reason we could not put the roof down :crazy:

Just need to get a new display screen as there is a few dead pixels .
