My astra has been dismantled for parts, the only thing left was the shell.
I allowed a 3rd party to contact a scrap man to dispose of what's left.

I left the V5 with the car, the car was picked up and I have no CoD (certificate of destruction) or V5

The scrap man wont answer his phone,
the 3rd party wont answer his phone or emails so I don't know where the car has been taken
So i'm out of pocket with the scrap value and far more importantly the car is still in my name!!!

Any suggestions?

Someone told me to call the police as the car is still legally mine, can anyone clarify this?

i would have thought it would be best to talk to the police mate see what they say

Give dvla a ring. I had a similar prob when i broke one of my cavvys. Not so much with the scrap issue but cudnt find the v5 to inform them that it was scrap. Iirc they told me to put it in writing to them that i had broke the vehicle myself and the shell had been diposed off. Had a letter back from the confirming that the car was scrapped and no futrther tax reminders wud not be sent.

i think the dvla simply need a letter informing them of change of ownership

once the tax expires or tries to renew then the car reappears again

as far as your concerned you sold the car for peanuts to a scrap man
