I assume this is the bit on the front of the engine the black plastic tube from the air filter conects too? recentle i noticed the outside of this looked a little dirty on removing the black plastic tube i found that it was very oily in there and when i gently opened the butterfly plate thinghy it was very oily in there as i assume this bit is designed for air intake why would it be so oily anyone had this ?? ANy advice appreciated

yes its where the egr pipe throws oily vapour through the system its quite common :thumbdown: you can take the throttle body off easy enough and give a good clean with carb cleaner ... or you could even buy my last polished+ported tb 😃

Now thats interesting as i got an EML this morning my code reader states Manufacturer Control and i believe my EGR valve is faulty as i get rough idling and occasional stall this has all started about the same time if the valve is allowing excessive oly mess through would this be another symptom of a faulty egr valve?

Thanks for the info - i will fit the cheater and blanking panel ordered from here then remove the TB and clean it out
