Hi im new to computers so still not 100% sure how to work it. Anyway, I bought an astra 2.2 sri with a collapsed timing chain guide rail and tensioner a few months ago. It bent all 16 valves but done no damage to the cylinder head, block or pistons. I put 16 new valves in the head and fitted a new timing chain kit. When i first started the engine after doing all the work it was a bit noisier than i felt it should have been and as the engine heat up it developed a knocking noise and took a good 15 secs of turning the engine over to finally get it started with the engine hot. I changed the engine oil and filter and when removing the paper element filter i noticed that it was squashed. It was like the outer parts of the filter had been sucked in. The noise gradually got worse and the other day when taking it into my work to strip it back down to inspect it the oil pressure light came on, i cut the engine and checked the level but the level was fine so i jumped in and drove it another mile before the oil pressure light came on again. Any ideas? Im not sure where to start.
Thanks
Dean
