So i was driving home from work and the engine was running hotter than normal ......then i hit traffic and was slowly watching the needle go up n up till the 100 mark ....... my arse went like a 5 p so i tried to pull over as soon as i could . Then the worst thing in the world happened ....... smoke started to billow out of the top of the bonnet and then through the vents in the car !!!
i then panicked and pulled over and popped the bonnet as i was driving to get parked up , first thing i did was strip the engine cover off and all i could smell was melting plastic ....not going to lie i was bricking it looking for a forign object that had melted .....that was hopefull thinking .
Waited a while expecting it to go up in flames .....luckly it was cooling and checked and it had gone down to about 90 ish cryb..
waited ages for it to cool then drove home really carefully .
Had a check on the coolant tank ......as bone dry as the Sahara desert , so topped up with engine coolant and had to add water as i ran out .
Im thinking that a rad hose must hand a leak as i toped up coolant like 10 weeks ago notsure.gif
I'm really not sure what to do 🙁
