hi guys , i have just joined and in need of help please
i have just brought a vauxhall bertone 2.2 in gold / yellow
i had one a few years back and loved it until i got a rs turbo !! after 2 years i had so many problems i have got rid and brought another astra.
problem is its a bit on the slow side compared to my last one. i know no 2 cars perform the same but feels more like a 1.8 instead of a 2.2.
it idles at 700rpm and sounds sweet and very quiet.
its all ok until i rev hard and then i get a cloud of blue smoke from the exhaust
i thinking maybe the rings or valve stem seals but been told to use STOP SMOKE additives or use a thicker oil. now as i just brought it and come with no service history i dont know much about its life.
i only paid 710 for it with 95000 miles and all previous M>O>T,s so im thinking thats not alot compared to some cars ! i did get it of a old boy so cant see it being raced about ,, any help will be greatfull thanks steve
