i have at last managed to get my veccy 2.2 (z22se) car mot'd. admittedly it does has some adviserys nothing to bad except 1...
noisey engine.....
now i have been reading that this engine if it isn't serviced regulary it can be exspective to repair i.e the oil galaries can become blocked due to the oil filter disintergrating and coursing the exhuast cam to rub on the clamps... which in turn can weld the cam to the head from heat! EEK! :wtf:
now the previous owner who owned this car couldnt afford to service it owned it around 5 years and she had it serviced maybe 3 times... and never had the chains changed in that time! my god!
i have been reading horror stories that the chain can fail at any time due to low service intervals... now i think this one has nearly had it its noisey and i think its due to oil starviation and the cams will give up at some stage..... i might purchase another head and some cam's and a cam chain set. i have looked on ebay and found some cam's but they are from a vectra c z22se my question is are these cam's any different from my 2001 vectra b , i shall update with pics as soon as i can..
