Guys , may be a long shot but did anyone on here ever own a 2.2 sri vectra on a 53 plate Reg no. RK53 ZXR, it's just that a dealer near me has this up for sale and only has 36,000 odd miles on it and might end up taking a look at it and getting shot of this damn Mazda 6 I have , why I ever P/X'd my old vectra elegance for this mazda I shall never know , I must have been mad, it's been nothing but a headache since I owned it and to crown it all it now has rear main oil seal leak, baring in mind this Mazda 6 is a 2007 model with just short of 10k miles on the clock , it's just bad news , shouldn't be happening at this early stage and shall never darken the doors of Mazda again after this, so just be warned if mine's anything to go by stay away , they just aren't what they say they are!! think I just need to get back to where I belong if you know what I mean!LOL

Popped in to dealer to check the car out, few issues with it , engine was sweet and from cold start no signs of a noisy timing chain!! body work had a fair few scatches on it most of which would not polish out , one of the side skirts cracked and not fittting properly , bubbling alloys, water in boot (suspect aerial rubber as it was perished) crap tyres , and some nasty creaking from front of car ,as well as rear sounds like top mounts on the front and maybe ARB's on the rear and on further investigation whilst rocking steering wheel back and forth there was a bit of knocking noise that sounded like it's in the rack rather than tie rods and some light misting of oil on one of the front shocks, otherwise car drove okay with no flat spots!!; dealer was not prepared to do a lot of work on the car and at £3995 (far too high IMO) and offering me £4500 for mine it was a no go , so shall keep an eye on what else might be out there.

Vectra 2.2 SRI 53plate with no issues full documented history with mileage adjustment to 36000 miles from a dealer £3125
£3995 with worn tyres, scratches to the body, leaking water into boot area, knocking / creaking suspension steer clear :shock: The car with that mileage should have no defects and drive like new in my opinion.
If you like the car and are prepared to spend some money to bring the car back to its former glory then offer the dealer the trade price £1625.

I cant understand why dealers / traders continue to sell cars with known defects and at a stupid asking price :o

I totally agree mate, it should not have had these issues other than neglect by previous owners , as for dealers they are indeed Stealers, mind you it wouldn't surprise me if they get some poor mug that'll come along and buy the thing and also forgot to mention that the heating fan speed only worked on No. 4 so guessing a resistor pack fault there, cars and dealers you gotta luv' em haven't you !! LOL

Pete, name and shame the dealer so some poor mug doesn't purchase the car. cheers.. That motor has been clocked me thinks with them defects notsure.gif

That's what I'm beginning to wonder, there excuse for trying to sell it on their forecourt was that 'it appears in good nick and therefore we'll give it a go on the forecourt' so shame on you Burnham Garage , slough for hoping there's a mug out there!!
