car sounds like a bag of nails

got home from work noticed the car sounded louder than normal,i knew the exhaust was blowing at the rear ,so i popped the bonnet and it confirmed what the rattling is ,the f****** chain is rattling a good un .

the car is on 106k the chain was done at 84k by benny ,regular oil changes every 6 months regardless of miles ,so looks like im gonna have to stop using it and save up to get it replaced

The chain and tensioners should have lasted alot longer than 22000 miles notsure.gif

no ,ive got cavaddict hopefully popping round at the weekend to cast his eye over it ,with the view of fixing it in the week ,if its nothing to major .
i wouldnt want to risk it trying to drive over to see benny

not 100% sure yet ,think it may have jumped a tooth ,it runs fine but there is a noticeable noise increase above 5k

Can't really see why it's happened, the bore and shaft had started to pick up and so it had seized. Seemed to be plenty of oil in it...may just have been a faulty one.

this time its fixed 100% ,it had jumped a tooth as steve said ,thank you steve :clap:
