Changed my spark plugs today (pics)

My mpg has not been the best in my Astra Sri Turbo and I was gettting about 24mpg with mixed driving. Today I changed the plugs for the first time since I have owned the car. To my supprise I took out the old spark plugs and they were NGK-R ones. I replaced them with factory Vauxhall ones. How did the condition look from the old plugs I removed? I am off for a little drive now 8)

NGK-R plugs are the standard ones for the Z20LEH

So it looks like it's just a different type of NGK-R plug used.

However, AutoVaux list the plugs for yours as being FQR8LE2, which is what you've just fitted

Vauxhall took my reg number before they ordered mine, so they knew what car it was for. My standard plugs should be different from the 170Bhp version if I remember right

i just been looking for plugs for mine and at min i have the 4 Electrode and the ones i found have 3 are they right? whats best them in link or go to vauxhall and get them from there?

Those in the link will do you fine, they are for the Z22SE. Try and use a torque wrench when you put the new plugs back in as if you overtighten them you could split the head from inside the chamber. Seen this happen a few times now and you could end up getting water coming through. The heads on these 2.2 are softer than the likes of my kind. Even a little nip should see your new plugs fitted ok if you can't get a torque wrench 8)

Them plugs had been in there a long time by like of it and they look the wrong colour too, usley light brown but they look black.

thanks mate will get my self some pay day. had misfire last nite and code p0300 was coming up so just taken plugs out to find this

was just spluttering and missing. still had plugs from when i serviced it just put them in and running ok now. deffo have to get my self some new ones asap now
