Car wont start due to new engine (new member)

Hi all new member here!!

Fault codes

p1512 throttle adaption

New engine is from another 2.2 astra coupe

I have my own ECU, coilpack, crank sensor,throttle body, etc so only the engine itself is being used.All parts worked on previous engine as bottom end went.

Earths are all ok.

fuel pressure ok and pump priming

Car starter turns but wont fire including 4v in coil pack. (iv tried 2 coil packs and both throttle bodys)

No other faults appearing, its fly by wire so not sure how you adapt them with accelerator pedal which is responding.

Im a bit lost!!

Welcome to the forum.

Its not something silly like a bent pin in one of the ecu conectors? Its easaly done!

Or possibly a dodgy conection?

Im throwing ideas about but no harm in ruling out the simple stuff.

fly by wire is a pain,dunno why throttle not responding,had no probs before,but i was told u have to match it up with pedal??

throttle body from any z22se will work on any z22se, no coding :thumbup:

I would check the throttle body closes ok as P1512 Throttle minimum position not learned

It closes as far as i checked,iv tried two, its now threw up Fault codes are P1512,P1515 and P1682

the ecu doesn't seem to like the signals it's getting back from the throttle body, make sure there are no bent pins on either the tb or ecu

u wudnt believe me but iv checked that mate,ecu n tb, cud there b a break in the wires (meaning striping all the wiring down)??

get a volt meter on it and check resistance between ecu connector pins and tb connector pins

worth buying a haynes manual to find which pins / wires to check

that circuit also runs the EGR valve as well

no probs,got speakin to some1 who knows a bit bout vauxhalls too,they said it sounded like the 2nd immobilizer which goes on if the engine has been disconnected for a period of time (new engine was lying about a month), been informed its to be reprogrammed which only tech II can do as far as i know.

It cuts the sparke and injectors so sounds very like it,will keep yous posted.

Has any1 else heard of it?

Thats not good.

Take the rocker cover off and have a look to see if the chains intact?

Did you try putting a dribble of oil in the chamber then checking the pressure? could be seized rings or something very wrong internaly.

a would say the valves are bent .. does the engine sound likes its turning over slightly faster than normal ..

try awuirting some oil down the bores,spin the engine over then replace the plugs,it could be where the engine has been stood,my astra had a misfire which was caused by a dry bore,after squirting some oil down the plug holes i have had no issues with a misfire since
