Z2.2YH Injector Rail

Hi all,

Big thanks to all who have posted before, have just successfully removed my cylinder head based largely on the the info posted on here. Just have one small problem, the injector rail, its still attached to the head and i'm not sure how to remove it! Haynes manual says that a special tool is required but i'm guessing it may just be a case of prising the seals out but the whole thing looks kind of fragile and i don't want to duff it up if i can help it. Any advice, tips would be helpful and much appreciated. Btw timing chain jumped a tooth or two, Doh!

isn't there 2 bolts at either end of the fuel rail holding it to the block and after there out just pull them out or is that just the z22se's

Hey,
The Z22YH has the Simtec 81.1 system, there are two stud bolts and four mounting bolts. The manual then refers to special tool KM-6359 which draws the injector rail out. I'm nervous to just yank it out as it looks real easy to damage the plastic electrical connectors, it sounds the other injector systems are a bit easier to remove.

push the rail up and down and eventually it will pop out

it is a tight squeeze with the wiring loom but how i did was turn the rail upside down and rest it on the cam cover

Cheers for that Mike, I've got the head off completely so the rail is the very last bit, then its off to get it re conned. One other thing Mike, what's your view on buying non genuine Vauxhall parts such as Timing/Balancer chains, just wondering if its regarded as false economy, oh and do you still get the coloured links on the pattern stuff?
