My Pre Cat is here tomorrow, I am taking it to a garage to be fitted, will it be a staright forward job? I bought the 2.7" Cobra Pre Cat pipe. Is it just a straight swap? Cheers

Cool, hope thats all done for me when I get home including fitted. Getting re delivered tomorrow and I have asked the girlfriend to pop the car down to the local Tyre Spot to get them to fit it. They fitted a cat back system for me once that I had bought local for cheap.

They should be able to use the turbo clamp again, they did on mine (and I think Daz did on both his and Aly's)

I cant fault Tyre Spot Mark, they have done all of the exhaust work for me which included the pre cat removal. I'll be going back very soon again to get my manifold swapped with the spare. :crazy:

Well tyre spot would not fit it :thumbdown: , they looked at my car on the ramps and then took it straight back off. They said we won't touch it as it's straight from the Turbo :crazy: . Well I have just fitted it myself, seems ok and it looks ok for leaks. Out for a test drive in a min :razz: . When I fitted it I noticed the join at the main cat and my pre cat sat close to the sump, is that normal?

Right been out for a spin and all seem well, just not getting any pops or bangs like I thought I might get. Weird notsure.gif

It took about 200 miles before I started getting a few little pops and bangs.

I also only get pops and bangs when the car is still cold, or when really giving it beans in 2nd or 3rd at full throttle and it pops on gear change

Got my first pops today lol, took the car out for a 60 mile drive. Nearly pooped my pants when I was out driving, a pigeon flew at the windscreen and I thought it had smashed the screen, all was ok though. Was a shock :crazy:

Well I do tend to get more pops and bangs now it's bedded in a bit more now. The video clip on Youtube below is of my car and it pops at 19 seconds into the video. I was out the other night and it was popping a fair bit lol. I do tend to get pops also when it's cold. Very happy with my exhaust system now :razz:

Mine is the same Mark, it pops more when cold, but will pop on gear change when warm past 5,000rpm and full throttle

How does it sound Matt, is your car on the same noise level as mine? I know it sounds different from standard with just a pre cat fitted.

It's quieter than yours due to the cat-back you have Mark, but it's not exactly quiet for an almost standard system.

Yes, I'd love the full 3" resonated system, but it's not exactly cheap, so would probably look at doing it next year at some point.
