2011 session of midweek sprints finished today at Queensland raceway
(last event was rescheduled due to track resurfacing.)

I came away with 2 new personal best times (clubman and sprint circuits) and 2 first place trophies. 😃

my pretty (once chrome) exhaust tips.

will post links to videos once i upload them. had a good play chasing a boxter s and golf gti.

The car that came in 2nd. (04 clio sport) always managed to get a faster time than me until today where i managed a good second infront of him. he's looking at some upgrades to see if he can out do me now.

was out at the track again yesterday. shaved some more time off. 🙂
there were no changes to the car since the previous event. not even an oil change or tyre rotation.

car is under going a bit of a cosmetic surgery at the moment.
rear damage has been repaired.
adding a pro drive rear splitter (last brand new one available i was told)
coupe/vert front bar with my front lip.
wheels and mirror covers being refurbished in flame red then fitted with another new set of kumho ku36's
chalkboard bonnet (just for a bit of fun)

timing chain and balance chains were replaced a couple of days ago for peace of mind as there was a minor noise on startup. the old tensioner had some wear on it which I haven't seen on any others i've changed in the past.

Loving the idea of the chalkboard bonnet - cant imagine what would happen if I had it done in the works car part. 🙂

Went out to the hardtuned.net track day at Norwell. (also known as Holden Driving Centre qld)

unofficial time was a 1.11 which i am pretty happy with. 🙂
very tight circuit but a lot of fun. On my last session out there I managed to keep it above 80km/h through the back corners.

heres a few times of the cars that were similar times to me. (I'm #22 astra) the other Astra is a vxr race car but i don't think he was pushing it all that hard.

couple of photos from yesterdays track day. beat my pb by 0.2s. going to get some driver training to see where there is more room for improvement.
a very large majority of my laps yesterday were within 0.4s of each other so consistency is there 🙂

only changes since last track day are tyre pressures set to 41f and 40r, rsb set to 2nd softest. car felt very stable with no over or under steer
also that headlight intake made zero difference from what i could tell so I'll just stick to the vxr intake scoop from now.

did another track day on the weekend. was a 2300km round trip.

had massive oversteer the whole day and couldn't figure out why. seems like my rear calipers were seized. My lap times weren't great because of it but it sure did improve my skills through out the day.
My last session ended on my 2nd hot lap. spun the car at around 100km/h and it stalled with my foot still flat on the throttle. went to restart and it was misfiring, on 2nd start up it seemed fine but had the engine light come on so it was time to call it a day.
