I decided that I had to make the effort and do a small service on the car today. I've been putting it off due to other commitments so it happened today.....along with something else too!
First off was the pollen filter. Out it came covered in dirt and dust along with some aluminium swarf from our carpark in work. Then it was the turn of the spark plugs. Gently does it undoing the plugs. They looked good really but seeing as i've got new ones it would be daft not to replace. I put the Forte engine flush into the engine last night and run the car down the road and back then left in overnight. Started again this morning and run for 10 minutes then started on draining the oil and changing the oil filter. I used Fuchs/Silkolene Titan Pro S 5w 40 Fully Synthetic.
The filter came out a lot more easily than the last oil change. After reading Poundy's method I gave that a go and all was well.
Here's a few pics...

After i'd finished the oil etc, I decided to fit some goodies that i've had in the boot of my car for a few weeks now. I'd managed to aquire an irmscher top and bottom grill from a chap on VVOC who was having a clear out. Got both items for £200 posted. That was a bargain at the current rates of irmscher grilles.
I started on the top grill this morning and then went about the bottom grill tonight. This meant front bumper off. I haven't done that for a long time but I hadn't forgot.
I removed the spring clips holding in the standard grill and then had to drill out 8 new holes to hold in the irmscher grill. I marked out the hole positions with my vernier caliper whist the grill was clamped to the bumper. Drilling thru' is always a bit daunting but all went well. I used the black plastic expanding pop rivets to hold the grill in place. After a quick check it was back to the car to reinstall the bumper.
More pics.....

It would have been rude not to replace the bottom too!

Back on the car after a clean...
