Can you swap a Astra/Vectra ECU with a VX220 one?

Been reading up on Verbooms blog (mentioned a lot on the forum) and his adventures with the VX/Speedsters ECU and was very interested.

Seems like they managed to reverse engineer the software :ugeek: enough to provide some useful features for tuning :clap: .

My excitement was short lived when it was explaned that the software only worked with VX/Speeder ECUs as they were running slightly different software to Astra/Vectra :thumbdown: .

Now, immobilser etc issues aside has any one swapped their ECU to take advantage of these developments in a different model or is it even theoreticly possible? dunno..

the main difference is the lack of aircon or traction control software, if you can live without those then it should work

My aircon does not work and the traction control is not that great anyway. 🙂

just to let you all know the ecu on a vx220 is the same as the one fitted to the astra g and vectra b,there is 2 choices and that is with or without cruise control,the only difference is the software which is dealer programmed
