Hi Guys
I have a holden Zafira here in Au which has a Z22SE motor
recently it started to rattle and then only ran on 3 cylinders
I took it to our local mechanic who said that cylinder 3 has no compression and the motor is stuffed. I went and picked it up "just running" until i could afford to get a second hand motor. Yesterday i went to start the car and again it continued to run on only 3 cylinders with a terrible rattle when all of a sudden the car ran smoothly on all 4 cylinders????
The car is still running now smoothly but has the dreaded rattle that i assume is the timming chain after doing some research.
I plan on getting this replaced but for now i would like to just fix the tensioner if that is the problem. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to do this myself??
also can anyone explain why the car ran on 3 cylinders for a while then back to 4?
