God Damn EML!!!

Hey all,
My EML light has come on and my code reader is giving the code P0420 Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1), i replaced the front Lambda sensor last month because the EML came on with the code P0130 which cured the problem but now this has happened. Do you think it is the Cat thats knackered or could it be the second Lambda? Any help would be greatly appreciated as i have just spent nearly £500 on replacing the chain and i am seriously beggining to loose the will to live!!!!! 🙁

well either the second lambda is faulty or the cat has stopped working dunno..

Thanks for the reply Vocky, on my code reader you can check the voltage in live data on both Lambda sensors and both are showing voltage fluctuation, if you rev the engine you get spikes of voltage in both sensors does this mean both sensors are ok?

front lambda bank 0 is suppose to pulse from under .200 and hit around .800 and should speed up when u increase revs - so should be going up and down and it should be changing in voltage in under a second

rear lambda should be a bit more lazy and should be sitting around .700 at idle when engine is warm - obviously changes after you revved the car

After deleting the P0420 code lastime i have done 120 miles without it coming back on?

Well i got to 350 miles and its back on!!!! I am also getting a wiff of fuel in the car every now and again, can anyone tell me if this could be related? notsure.gif

Hi Mike thanks for getting back to me! I cant hear it blowing and the car runs lovely and smooth, it doesnt seem to be doing too bad on fuel either i'm getting around 210 mile to £40 or is that bad????
