Now you've done all the hard work.....
Yonks ago I used to have a X20XEV which the throttle body was always getting oiled up. It caused problems every summer when we put the caravan on the back and one year threw a wobbler right outside a marine engineers. I popped in to buy some carb cleaner and came out with a spray made by Quicksilver, called Powertune, made for powerboat engines. Back at the campsite I couldn't dismantle very much, so I simply gave the TB and idle bypass and dose of the spray. Ten minutes later I wandered over to look at it and was nearly blinded by the sunlight reflecting off the butterfly - it was gleaming.
The thing is the regular problem simply stopped there and then, the spray had cleaned it so thoroughly that I never had to do the annual clean again. I buy it from a marine chandlers, but it's available on ebay. It's worth trying, in my experience it outperforms all the automotive sprays I've tried.
I even tried it on a model aircraft engine that had years of baked on castor oil residue - nothing shifts that stuff. It didn't come up gleaming, but it certainly made a very significant difference, more than anything else I tried. (Well there was one product which cleared more muck, but it also dissolved the engine so I don't count that as a success.)
Love the tissues - very macho.
