front brakes??

hi everyone i changed my front brakes about 2 month ago and since dong this my front drivers size brake squeaks. but if i brake hard it stops but after a few times on the brakes its back. i have striped it down cleaned it all and still same. i got my mate who has a thing that run round the disc to see if it buckled he did it and said looks fine but the other lad who worked there said the pads are wrong. he said i have the ones with the grove down the center and i need the solid ones... will this really make a diff??? notsure.gif

Stick some pics on here if you can. Also did you use copper grease when you fitted them?

yer used copper grease 😃 . the pad that where on the car before changed them i think where the solid ones well what was left of them lol. i have just been to halfords and the ones i have in are £14.99 and the solid set are £21.49

these are the set i have.

I would say either its the brakes wearing in on the old discs or you have a piece of meta rubbing somewhere??? Possibly a brake pad wear sensor???
I cant see how a groove in the pad cause a squeak - its just you have slightly less friction area.

If you have checked everything else then Im leaning towards pads wearing into the old discs as ive had a similar noise from mine in similar circumstances. Its annoying but it will fade away.

What does everyone else think?

sorry should of said the discs and pads where all new

reading you 1st post it sounded like you used the old ones. If its not a metal grinding noise i would say its just the pads wearing in.
