anyone know of any good anti virus software that is free ?

my norton will run out next week and i dont like paying £20+ for it just thought there might be a free one out there some where 😃

I use AVG as well, the personal edition is free, nice and easy to use, and does exactly what it says on the tin. Also, you'll notice that your PC will run a lot faster without all that Norton shite on there. Best thing I did was get rid of that. What are you going to be using for a firewall Gaz?

have to agree with you about Norton Matt. I've been using it for years and have recently changed to Trend PC-cillin 14 and now my pc runs a lot quicker.

Well I've used Norton for 3 years, from Norton 2003 to Norton 2005. It's so resource hungy and total overkill for what the normal user wants. AVG does exactly the same anti-virus wise, and uses hardly any resources, and my router's firewall combined with the Windows XP one is just as good as the Norton one.

Have you a link for the AVG Matt? My Norton needs updating and I have noticed my pc is running slow. Can you recommend a good free firwall also 🙂. Cheers

yeah, it will integrate with outlook, and scans all incoming and outgoing mails
