seanb7337 can any1 help, went to start car after being parked overnight, doesnt fire, battery is ok, plugs got soaked with petrol from attempted starts, changed plugs, wont bump, chain moves but wont spark, rac said no compression notsure.gif
vocky chain jumped if there is no compression but the chain is intact, so that will be bent inlet valves 🙁
seanb7337 Just took the rocker cover off, inspected the chain, it looks good, 14 links between the marks, valves and cams look ok to me, can't see any damage but not 100% on what to look for
seanb7337 No he didn't test it, just said that's what he thought, he told me to let it dry out as it was badly flooded and to buy new plugs, I did that and its still the same
astra22bertoneauto remove the coil pack & spark plugs and rest them both ontop of the the engine. make sure the sides of the plugs (near the tips) are touching the metal cam cover (bad news if you have a plastic 1). connect the wire to the coil pack. ask someone to turn engine over while you watch. these engines use wasted spark which means you will see (or should see) all 4 plugs sparking away. No spark then check earth connections and/or swap coil pack. best to get a second user 1 or borrow a working 1 to double check. Hope that helps mate

astra22bertoneauto Right i would start by checking/cleaning all earth contacts. I think I remember Vocky saying once if crank sensor is not working the this wont let it give a spark either. Hope it helps
