lumpy start up and a slight rattle for a second...

Hello everyone, ive just got my hands on an 03 plate vectra 2.2 sxi engine number 11158333. the car looks and drives perfect apart from a bit of a lumpy start up with a slight rattle but only happens for a second and then runs fine... I have been doing a bit of digging around on the web to find storys of chains snapping oil feed pipes blocking etc etc. does anyone happen to know if my engine was one placed on a recall or has any other problems that may cause this stomach churning noise notsure.gif many thanks will.

the chain is under warranty for 60k miles and/or 6 years,as yours will be out of this warranty period unless you have proof that a chain was done within the time period i would get the chain done asap,i would limit your lileage till it is done as there will be no other warning before something fails

Just as i suspected, dont suppose you or anyone else could give me a rough price for this doing

Give it an oil flush then change the oil and filter. Good quality oil though. I use Castol 5w30 edge. This may eradicate the slight rattle on start up.

thanks for your replys, from what i can see the chains have not been done and at 84000 miles i think its time for new ones, just need to find someone in the wakefield or west yorkshire area who can do this for me who wont rip me off like vx. so if anyone knows of somewhere near me please let me know thanks
