hi to you all again
yesterday after visiting my son in hospital i stoped at a set of traffic lights and my tc light and engine managaement light came on
so it went in limp mode
5 min later it was running very sick 🙁
it wasent reving properly like it was only running on 2
managed to get me home
then a bout an hour later i went out to the car and it was all cleared?
no lights on
so i drove it this morning for a bout 5 min then the lights came back on
took it to my friends garage and pluged it in to the dignositc
and the codes found where
p1221
and i cant remember the other code notsure.gif
i need to sort this out asap as my son is going to a london hostital this week and i need this car to get me there
any help would be great thanks guys

Has the timing chain been changed?

yes i changed it a few weeks ago and the balance chain

p1221 is throttle position sensor-range/performance problem
p1635 has multiple definations-1,Engine control Module (ECM) - defective-2, Manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor - circuit malfunction-3,Engine control module (ECM), 5V output voltage - circuit malfunction -4,Accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor, supply circuit 1 - circuit malfunction
looking at the codes listed it does point to the accelerator pedal unit

There is a potentiometer built into the throttle pedal assembly and another on the throttle body - connected by cable. Check there's nothing loose to begin with. From gut feeling I think it's usually the throttle one that goes most often. If you look on your throttle pedal you'll see the module attached to it.

it has had a different throttle body fitted as it was like this when i got it and i was given the old throotle body
so i must be the one on the pedel do you know where ill buy one and hjow much and excat what its called cheers guys :clap:

what does the exhaust emissions light look like as the lights on the dash that is on in my vectra is a tc light and a light next to it in the shape of a engine ?

i have just changed the THROTTLE PEDAL SWITCH POTENTIOMETER and still no different 🙁
what next?

I would check, clean or swap the TB for another one. Also make sure MAP sensor is clean or swap that for a known good one.

the map sensor how would i clean it also where is it ?
the tb has been change not so long ago how would i clean that aswell ?
im so close to scraping this

where is the map sensor can i clean it with brake cleaner also would it make it smoke a bit if it was blocked ? :?: :?: :?:
