alarm problem

ok had to disconnect battery as alarm is doing my head in..
checked all windows are up glove box closed car bettery was ok bonnet and boot closed. but when i turn it off the siren pips a few times the last time it was going off.. is ok for probly 20 mins then goes off again, thinking its the power siren now with the batteries going inside. how much is a new one and does it need dealers to tech2 it to car ???

It is the Power Sounder unit. Needs replacing. Tech 2 not required. Price is around £80 IIRC but this may have gone up since last year as all Vx parts seem to have increased massively lately.

cool i dont work far from autovaux either only other side of motorway will pick one up monday.. left battery off for now doing my head in... might let the dog sleep in the back for the night they wont want to steel a car with a 12 stone mastiff in the back lol

saves a few quid asell lol. after reading that they seem bloody leathel why do thyey even out them onto cars if they set light like that. cheers mate i owe you

I found that it wasn't worth changing the batteries just replace the whole thing. As said above Autovaux is a good place to buy from, cheaper than vauxhalll anyway. The powersounder is fitted behind the nearside wheel arch.

was gonna replace but when i saw the thread above about them setting cars alight i now decided just to rip it out sod that.

Yup - no problem there at all.

easy job all done now didnt even go off when i removed it. anyway now its a chew toy for my french mastiff all i need to do now is get some new clips to hold the plastic guard back in place.

Mine is now gone too. Wrapped up in a rag by the garage door. Mine did go off when I unlugged it and it was loud as fook!

my alarm was giving off the odd beep and false alarm.

I removed the power sounder today and although the alarm still triggers if I put my hand through an open window, the horn doesn't, it silent with just hazards flashing.

If I buy a new power sounder from Autovaux will it need pairing to my alarm or just fit it?

Thats good news, what about the horn not going off when the alarm is triggered.

I also read in the owners manual that a flashing light alarm light when activating means a problem, could it be I have another problem setting the alarm off, how can I find this out, is it a trip to the dealers to plug in a computer.

Anyone in Bristol able to do this apart from a dealer?
