astra 2.2 coilpack issue

hi guys
my car was being gay and decided to start acting up. Its a 2.2 astra i changed the coil pack and it runs fine, but the ecu has come on ever since saying no cam shaft censor found but it wasnt on b4 i changed the pack. Do you think the new pack is at fault dont think its a proper gm 1 as its a lot lighter than the orignal .

i would say your new coil pack is at fault as the "cam sensor" on the 2.2 is built into the coil pack and does not actualy read anything off the camshaft

Out of interest, how does that work then? I'm used to sensors that read where things are up to. How does the coil pack sense the camshaft conditions?

(I think my next car will be a Morris Minor - I don't like all this electronic wizardry)

changed the coil pack and there r no light on so thanks pall it has to be a gm part
