hi guys just a quickie, when you replace the chain tensioner on the z22se i have read several differnt ways, i think mine is slacking as it sounds like a diesel when i start it, only had the car a week and its just touching 100k so have booked it in for new chains etc to be fitted, but im a abit worried about driving it there(driving is my only option, or pushing lol..) so before i do i want to change the tensioner as i dont want the chain slipping or breaking on me on the way so is it just a case of unbolting the tensioner and replacing, i have worked out how to release the piston from the tensioner, and i will do this prior to fitting but a few guides i have read say i need to have piston 1 on TDC before fitting the new one is this true??? i dont want to remove the rocker or anything at all, just the tensioner.
so basicaly can i just unbolt the old one and refit with the new one without having the engine at TDC? i cant get her to the garage for the work until i get this soorted so thanks in advance ...
