problem you got is that you need a specific reader to diagnose fault codes like this as it is similar to traction control or abs - they run off different pins on diagnostic socket and / or different baud rates [data speed]
you need a reader capable of clearing down the cooling module codes firstly then see what is appearing
so either tech2 or opcom
the cooling module is located next to the radiator and is a big pain in the ass if they go wrong
at a guess cooling relay is either next to module or located in engine compartment fuse box next to fuel pump relay / engine relay [purple colours]
