Let me start of by saying i am new to this forum so apolagies if this is question is completely the wrong place.
I have been looking on autotrader at an astra 2.2 coupe Se2 52 plate with 48000 miles on the clock. The only thing holding me back is the probllems that these cars have with the Timing chains slipping/snapping (due to lubrication through 0.2mm nosel) as my freind had pre 2002 model and it slipped and wrote off his engine. I know that they changed this in march 2002 but i am concerned that the car i am looking at may have actually been made before the change came in.
The reason why i say this is because i asked the dealer the engine number and i got - 07079rxe.
I know that Vauxhall did recall these cars that had the timing chain issue but how do i know for sure if the one i am looking at has been done. I just need a bit of freindly advice as i dont wanna go and drive 150miles to find out its got this manufacturing fault.
I really hope it has been done as i want this astra soo bad lol.
Thanks for readin my post
Sam cheers..
