Tony12 I have had a rattle and have had my car in the garage this week to be repaired. The bloke said it was the tensioner that had seized. He has replaced it with the new tensioner but that also wont push the chain out. He seems to think it is an oil pressure problem and the tensioner isnt getting any oil. Does this sound right?
vocky the balancer chain tensioner is sprung loaded, so should work without oil, did he fit a complete kit ?
solorider i know a bit late to reply,i spoke to my local vaux dealer,where i used to work and spoke to the workshop foreman,he said there will be a small amount of slack with the engine off,the timing chain should be tight
