oh sorry to hear that you had problems..... what went wrong?
I had BT broadband for over 6 years. Then it stopped working and they didn't know how to fix it for over a month. Over the phone I could get any help as I could only talk to clueless monkeys from overseas. Two engineers visited me saying that the phone line was fine, they sent me 4 Home Hubs (all working fine at my neighbour's place) but they couldn't make them work in my house.
Enough was enough.
I'm without broadband atm. I'm thinking about Virgin Media 50Mb broadband, but honestly I don't want 12 month contract.. So I've been using my T-Mobile and Samsung Smartphone as a modem for last 6 months. And amazingly it's enough for me. So I will either have Virgin Media Broadband without contract or no broadband at all.
I'll contact Virgin one day and ask and see what they say. I'm not desperate to be with them. For them it will be to have a customer without contract or have no customer at all  If they say no then I will save more money for car parts cheers..
