Hi everybody. newbie just bought 04 2.2 vectra direct SRI

Hi everybody. I have just got back in from viewing my new car pick it up on Tuesday. a silver 04 reg vectra 2.2 Direct SRI, only 55000 miles on it with FVSH test drive was amazing and in fantastic condition. looking forward to spending a lot of time on here learning and sharing with you all.

Hello and welcome. Looks like a tidy example, and I do personally prefer the pre-facelift Vectra C :thumbup:

Just noticed that when did my insurance it comes up that my new car is 2.2 SRI, nothing about it being a DIRECT. is this normal? or have I bought a 2.2 sri and not a 2.2 Direct SRI how can I tell the difference. mine does have the Direct badge on the back.

the 2.2 Directs started rolling off the production from Jan 2004 so i think yours just cuts it mate as a direct injection
You'll be able to tell for definate if you take the rocker cover off to see what fuel delivery it is :thumbup:

just picked it up and driven the 40 mile home. car was fantastic, quick, solid and after resetting the computer when I filled it up car returned 37.9mpg on mix of motorway and b roads and that's with me having fun in it.

With returns like that it makes you wonder.... why choose diesel?

Direct injection gives you better economy aswell as power so that'll explain those good figures

also the direct had a twin tail pipe exhaust where the z22se only had a single outlet exhaust
