I always used gm ones in my old vec. as there pennys to buy anyhow...
However working in the trade i have seen numerous other cars that use the element style filter, and the aftermarket ones are crap, usually removed in the same condition as the one above..and some i have actualy removed in 3 pieces, top first, then the paper has come out in a long length, then had to remove the bottom from inside the housing....
One thing i have noticed tho, even on cars which have oe filter in, they seem to squash down slightly when you tighten the cap, as much as 10mm ,comparing new and old filters side by side..
