Hi all, just got a black Vectra 2.2 Direct SRi, 2007, 42k miles. Great car with a sweet engine and gearbox. This is a great forum. I just have a couple of questions to kick off:
The car runs really quiet (now that I've changed the oil and filter that was well clogged up, see pic), this made the chain quieter but there is a low deep noise when accelerating off at low revs or up a slight hill at low revs, it sounds like its coming from the front of the car around the engine, but could be possibly be the exhaust, however the exhaust looks new, even the flexible pipe section. Anyone any ideas ?
What are the telltale signs that the chain and tensioners are at fault ? Any audible noises I should listen out for ?
