knock from front end

hello all ..

my zafira started making a cloonking noise this morning whilst driving to work ,,

it started at the passanger wheel as i turned left .. now its doing the same on the right

when i turn steering left to right .. no noise whilst car not moving ..

soon as car starts moving say 5mph .. soon as i turn right a little a get a loud clonk .. and same when i centre the steering ..

both link bars were done 3 weeks ago ..

could this be the strut mounts .. i checked the drivers spring and its in one piece . also my car passed its mot a week ago at a vx garage

I would check the other spring too, just in case it's got a broken coil

checked springs .. all ok .. wishbones were fine etc ..

but i did notice a small amount of play on my inner rod connecting to the rack ..

but the clonk or bang is very loud .. its not as bad in a streight line .. but when steering slightly to the right you get the clonk and same when going over bumps .. .

could it possibly be the strut bearing or strut top ..

Are the link bars fitted correctly/tight? I did the link bars on Sjdickso's Astra a few years back, and one of the bolts wasn't done up tight enough, and caused a very loud knock.
