sdodsworth Hi there i'm sean, my dad recently bought a Vauxhall frontera 2.2 its a x22se and it keeps loosing oil pressure we have change the oil pump and are looking at the oil pressure switch but if this doesn't work we don't know what to try. Does anyone have any ideas please. Cheers Sean
MikeS this is the z22se forum m8 the x22se is like a bored out x20xev cast iron block z22se is alloy and is chain driven with a different engine management
vocky the frontera engine is the same as the x18 and x20 cast iron blocked engines, so will share the same problems they do. so check the oil pick up pipe in the sump is not clogged up
MikeS the x20 has also a one way valve on the block to stop oil returning to the sump frm the pick up pipe major cause of rattle on cold start
