engine trouble 2.2 petrol

Have just got myself another vectra its a 2.2 petrol cdx estate lovely car fully loaded leather xenons all the goodies but i think the head is knackered spark plug hole full of water dont really want to break the car as its too good but then dont want to spen a fortune on it getting it repaired, i have found an engine from a 2003 vectra c same engine code will this fit and would i have to swap over the gearbox's, oh yes hello by the way im new on this web site have been a member of vvoc for a while now pottsey told me about this site :-)

Hello and welcome. Vec C engine will be good but you will have to change the inlet cam for the one out of your Vec B engine as the Vec B runs the power steering off of the inlet cam hex drive cut into the end of the shaft. The Vec C power steering is electric.

Just took the old plugs out and they were nasty cheap ones with only one pin got a new set from vauxhalls today and they are 3 pin ones put them in and what a difference no lumpyness revs perfect and its still not losing any water in the plug hole were i originally found it, just going to keep running it and check the plug hole at the end of the week.

I work for vauxhall so i got my discount they were supposed to be £4.31 each and i got all 4 for £11.38 thats inc the vat

You can get GM plugs of ebay for £2 each :o

Yes on ebay Pentagon Vauxhall GM9199038 123B01 spark plug purchased :thumbup: 8 in total £16.00

Well definately the head, checked to day took the coil pack off and the spark plug hole is full again with water gutted, now just gonna try and source a new engine ill give it a couple of weeks if i cant find one ill break it which i dont really want to do as its too good but i cant have it sitting around for ever :-)

Well the decision has been made and im going to break the cdx i didnt want too but just dont really have the time to wait for a good engine to come along. 🙁
