finally getting engine sorted!

well its been like forever but tomorrow my car is going to the garage (a friends who works for vauxhall) to get the severe oil leak sorted 😃
whole bloody engine is good as new but bottom half supplied to me wasnt sealed(above crankcase)
nightmare especially as i paid to get the engine fitted along with a few mods just to find it was undriveable as oil leaked from all around the engine lol
so hopefully by sunday i,m back on the road
along with a 2.4 inlet manifold i bought ,believed to be vockys at some point
not much to do to engine now/had balance shaft delete/bigger air mods /ported throttly body
cant wait to see what power it will actually have as since these mods i hardly drove it lol
decatted with full s/s exhaust(200 cell cat to follow)

thanks mate,cant wait,i,ve drove it round the block a few times to keep battery charged etc
seems a lot more responsive but i,ve held back till its sorted
just in time for convetible weather lol

I cant see the weather being that good just yet. depends how daring you are!

At least now when you take it out theres no worry of it packin up. all about peace of mind.

hahahah its been that long i drove it properly i dont care how cold it is ! lol
heated seats afterall ,suprisingly warm in the front with roof down
i need a set of air intake pipes likes yours,any idea where i can get some from :thumbup:

Siliconehoses.com are good for bits. google it tho as not sure on the spelling?

You need a 70mm 45 degree silicone bend a 70mm 90 degree silicone bend and a 70mm o/d x 100mm length joiner

And the only other mod is to plumb the fuel pressure pipe into the manifold instead of the intake pipe.

hmm ok i have ordered a 70mm 90 degree and a 45 silicone off ebay a little over £12 each
now what exactly do i do with the intake manifold ??
i was going to order a t piece
i,m wondering how to actually install it lol

Just above the oil filter cap on the side of the maifold is a spare vacume take off this can be used for the fuel pressure regulator vacume. Its an easy job and you can still use the old pipe.

Its been done a few times. Have a good search on the forum and you should see some pics.

Ah no sorry for the 2.4 youl need either a 1way valve with to take offs or like you said previously a tee piece.

could someone explain kindly where the electrical lead will need to go/i see oil breather is straight forward to t piece/also small vacuum type hose?

The inlet air temperature sensor needs to go into the aluminium pipe joiner. You'l need to drill the right size hole and use the gromit out of your old inlet pipe.

The oil breather is up to you really you can either run it back into the itake pipe with some sort of fittin or put it through a catch tank or run it down behind the engine with a little filter or some sort of gauze on the end. Dont plum it into the vacume take off it'l be a mess.

That'l be the fuel pressure regulator pipe thats the one that needs to be tee'd into the vacume pipe before the 1 way valve.

also what size hose fits the oil breather pipe to catch tank/might aswell order the lot in 1 go
