cryb.. Hi guys,

I have a 51 plate veccy sri 150.

I was driving her yesterday all day without any problems, but around dinnertime last night I came to a set of lights which as I approached changed in my favour. I went down the gears as normal and the car seemed to cough as if starved of fuel, but I had half a tank in it... I thought it was going to cut-out, so gave it more gas and caught it at higher revs, 200 yards or so after the junction I got the eml on and its stayed on since :cry: All advice/ideas gratefully received.

P.S. - The car performs just the same as always, I can drive her normal.. don't think its in limp mode as she pulls/ revs freely etc. I'm hoping its a simple fix, I'm considering buying the cheater and blacking plate etc and a hand held diagnostic scanner for codes and reset.

Yes I have read on several forums that this can be a common problem, I will try and source a new lambda sensor and hopefully that will be it fixed "fingers crossed".

Anyone else clarify or add any ideas/ help on this??

get a cheap code reader first m8

use search facility top right of forum as this has been discussed to death

our admin 'matt' has found the best device imo as a cheap reader

no batteries and you simply leave it in your glove compartment

Yes that's my first port of call so I can get relative codes etc and take it from there..

However the scanner matt uses is the u480 and Ive heard on here that that doesn't work with the 2001 sri 150. mine is a 51 plate 2002, so can anyone confirm if this indeed works or will i need to source another?

i got one and it works on the astra 2.2, 2.0 turbo signum & Ford KA 😛

Yeah, that is the U480 that I have. Worked fine on John's Vectra and his is a 51 plate.
