On a turboed engine where does the iac valve take air from?

On a turboed engine where does the inlet air control valve take air from?
im going to be plumbing a iac valve into my z20net conversion as in these cold temperatures im a bit fed up of having to find that sweet spot on the pedal to warm my engine up on cold days, otherwise it can hesitate at junctions etc.
i have all i need to do it including a hole i can use in my manifold, but where does it get its air from?
do i need to 'T' into my inlet piping after my intercooler, or do i take air from atmosphere?

How it i on a 2.0 non turbo engine...

Pipe from T/b into IAc then short pipe from iac into manifold..

Cant see it being much diff on a turbo car...

so just bypass the t/b from top to to the manifold? it wont matter when the turbos producing boost?

sorry only just got a good look at that pic! i have exactly the same valve as that it would appear, i havent fitted it yet as im still suffering a bit of confusion some say atmosphere, but as my mate pointed out when the turbo kicks in it will try to blow out the iac valve, so my thinking is that its going to be best to intersect my top intercooler pipe (im using astra g gsi intercooler set up)
confirmation would be great! :thumbup:

righto! got the bugger fitted, it looks like super mario land in there now pipes everywhere! hope nothing else has to go in there isnt much room left!!

ive left it redundant for now untill i can get the laptop on it at the weekend, my idle's a little higher due to this but hey saves me having to warm it up.

ill post some pics up in my conversion post when its all wired in and operational.

i t'd into my top intercooler pipe and rather than drill my precious manifold i managed to hollow out a 16mm caphead screw and turn some hosebarbs on the head then took a gamble and drilled and tapped my 18mm :wtf: adapter plate.
no whistles or anything so the plumbing parts a succsess!!!
