Hi all, I am new to this site, and I am an apprentice mechanic, and a mate has a saab 93 2.0 turbo 170bhp model, which i believe is the same engine as the 2.0 turbo vectra c (z20net), anyway I believe the water pump has gone, as the water is not flowing through the system properly , and it seems to be pressuring too much, as the valve in the header tank cap is letting water out of the overflow, i have swapped it for another cap and it is still the same..
I spoke with a saab specialist and they said the impeller on the water pump is well known to fail, I am basically wondering where the water pump is located, is it timing chain driven or is it aux belt driven? i have had the engine mount off and had a quick look but failed to notice a water pump? so I was wondering if it is driven by the chain? any help or tips would be great cheers! 😃
