It's being re-mapped!

I called in to Courtenay this afternoon and discussed getting the Cabby re-mapped. I know it's not going to make a huge difference but should make it a little nice to drive. As the car is off the road at the moment due to winter, I have sent the ECU to Courtenay to be mapped.

Then when the weather is better, I'll take it for a drive over to Norfolk and have the map tweaked on the RR if needed. Be nice to see what the change is like. :thumbup:

Well it will be off the road Sorn until March!

During the winter I have added :-

K&N Filter
De-Restricted the Airbox
Added the Vectra C Intake Pipe (What a bitch!)
Eibach Springs
Bilstein Dampers
New Brakes all round (308mm Turbo set up at the Front)
New 18" wheels and tyres
Full Milltek Exhaust System

And now the Re-map and I havent driven it with any of the above mods included! They have been fitted and the car left alone! Should eb an interesting drive though.

Not expected a massive difference, but it it drives a little more crisper and feels a little less 'restricted' then I'll be happy.

I'd like to think so. The ECU is back with a Courtenay Stage 1 re-map. This map file was originally installed on a 100% standard 2.2 Astra Coupe and the rolling road figures were as follows :-

Standard - 148.3bhp
Mapped - 155.88bhp

Standard - 159.03 lb/ft
Mapped - 167.41 lb/ft

As the above firgures were before and after from a factory standard 2.2 Coupe, I asked what I could expect my figures to be with everything else i have done. Quite rightly they said that until he gets it on the rolling road to see what it's doing and tweak the map if required he would not like to say, but I would expect the power to break the 160bhp mark and torque to break the 170lb/ft mark.

So who know's. I am not after a power figures ego trip, but as long as I get in the car and notice that it feels more lively then I'll be more than pleased.

It sounds sad, but I am really looking forward to having a really drivable N/A engine! When I had my Zafira GSi, it was always at Courtenay having the latest upgrades done in the pursuit of power! Must be my age now!

You'll notice that the biggest difference in torque will in my opinion come from the Milltek. This was the most noticable mod on my car when it was NA.
