loftuz Hi peeps. Just after symptoms of a timing chain that has jumped a tooth or two? Any info would be great.
loftuz Mine starts fine. Not an issue. But when accelerating it seems to struggle below 3000rpm. It idles absolutely fine I've tried a new coil pack and have blanked of the EGR valve so there not the issue. I have been told it could be the timing slightly out It just seems to labour slightly at low revs. Any other ideas? dunno..
loftuz To be honest i dont know? it's juST A VECTRA c on a 52 plate SRI 2.2 As far as i know there are no fault codes. I've tried the key on & off sequence thing to see if the EML flashes but there is nothing. The EML has never come on
jcb208 My timing chain jumped and symptoms were lumpy idle and no power below 2500rpm had to slip the clutch and rev it to pull away but after 3000 rpm ran fine
loftuz it's no way near that bad. it idle's fine.but just feels like it struggles a bit below 3000rpm. it's 100% drivable, but there's something not right with it.
loftuz Just to give you guys an update on this old issue, it turned out it was the fly wheel that was causing it to drive awful. It eventually failed. Fitted a new one and car drove like new. Sold it now mind, car was costing far too much to run.
