Clunckin noise when first in reverse?

Hiya,

Hope someone might be able to help.

When I select reverse and lift the clutch, I often get a bit of a clunking noise that I think might be the cam chain slipping....

Could this be the case, or is it likely to be something else?

you sure it is not arb links / wishbones

I highly doubt it will be your chain slipping lol otherwise your engine would be shot by now. Dont forget.....whatever gear you select...your engine spins the same way so going for reverse makes no odds to crank rotation.

Good to hear it's not likely to be the chain, I'll look into the wishbones & links.
