I am building a new engine for my S/C VX220, nothing wrong with the old one just want to fit uprated internals / balance shaft delete etc etc and decided to build a new one and swap them over.
I have picked up a very cheap z22se bottom end which is in need of a bit more attention than I'd hoped. Has spun a couple of big end shells and will need a crank regrind. Anyway, I plan to fit 8.9 CR Wiseco pistons and Eagle forged rods from Allecotec but I have a few questions about the pistons:
1) Do I need the piston liners bored out, or is that only necessary for the .020 oversize ones?
2) I presume the .020 oversize is in inches and therefore the liners would need to be bored out 0.5mm?
3) Do they come with piston rings, if not do allecotec supply them (cant see them on their site) because the standard Vauxhall oversize pistons appear to be 0.125mm?
Anything else I should be aware of? I'm leaning down the route of a rebore anyway as there is some light scouring on a couple of liners.
Thanks in advance.
