as said the light appeared yesterday when i was driving around my works car park trying to get a space. Since it came on it has stayed on.
The car seems to operate fine, the engine seems smooth enough but i have noticed for the past 2 weeks i've been able to smell petrol from the exhaust. This suggests to me that it's running rich.
2 weeks ago i had the precat removed and the flexi replaced. So if this light has came on with regards to emmisions then surely it would have came on a lot sooner seeing as ive covered 500 miles since then and have had no running issue.
I have yet to check the spark plugs, i have replacements to fit if they are knackered. (25lbs/ft tighten notsure.gif )
Then there would be the coil pack, i know if these are faulty the EML light can come on.
Maybe the removal of the precat has warmed up the already worn main cat and has gone kaput dunno..
Are there any more initial checks i can do before i take it to a garage? Help would be appreciated guys :thumbup:
