2.2 whining issues

hi all
got a problem, when my astra 2.2 is warmed up im getting a whining noise from the top end cam chain side, also when its on tickover occasionally i have a bit of a rattle low down on the same side, car has covered 50k only and is an 04 plate so has the upgraded oil jet etc
the whining sounds a bit like a bearing gone, have taken the rocker cover off but cant see anything sinister going on, their is a bit of movement on the chain between the sprockets on top

Its hard to say exactly what it is but it might be worth removing your timing case and having a good look at both chains.

Might be worth removing the auxilary belt to see if the whining stops it might be worn bearings in the alternator or a/c pump.

could also be the aux belt tensioner

Belt has been off and still the same. Noise is definitely coming from the 2 sprockets at the top. Very strange noise like something is rubbing or a bearing gone. Only does it when fully warm.
