Re-Install Windows

Think it's about time for a re-install of XP, it's running like a dog at the minute, so just need to make sure I've got everything I need backed up, and will be re-installing it tonight

never done xp,did 98 aa few years back no problems apart from a few things i never backed up :oops:

yup same here got quite a lot of dual layer dvds now with everything ive backed up make sure every thing you back up on disc you write on the disc what it is i forgot to do this on a few discs and took a while to filter through to find what i was looking for :lol:

I do it ever 6-8 months, and I back everything up to my external HDD, also got all the install files on there for all the software which I have on the laptop.

I just format it, and then realise i aint wrote down what was on it 😃 lol

So i then go through trying to find out what was installed on it. hahaha

I always leave a mention note the day before, saying remember to write down what you need etc, but never do. 😃

XP is easier than 98 IMO. Put in the cd and away you go. lol

Windoze is back on, but had to re-install linux as well, as it deleted the grub boot loader which let me select which OS to load....just getting the 100,001 updates now for XP

touch wood my XP is still running pretty quick.

I backup my data on my NAS box (www.freenas.org) :thumbup:

Thats the way its seems to be going now with backing data up on an online resource. I've not come around to the idea yet but i can certainly see the pros.

I have never re installed my computer in all the 3 years I have had it, been thinking about doing it the last few weeks. How do I re install Vista on my Dell pc notsure.gif , I never got any Vista discs with it when I bought it dunno.. . Was thinking about putting in Windows 7 :ugeek:

f10, or f11 on bios splash screen

I've been running windows 7 64bit since the week it was released, and have had no problems with it what so ever.

Just found a Operating System cd for my Dell, will that be the disc I need to re boot mine? :razz:
