Help/advice needed!! abs & tc light on

Hello all,

due to the bad weather suffered here in scotland over the past few months, I have had my veccy garaged and havent had access to her for weeks..

I went out the other day to get her out and give her a good run out - I discovered i had a slow puncture on the offside rear so I quickly set about blowing up the tyre, she started first time and as I drove out the garage i noticed i was dragging the same rear offside wheel, I had left the handbrake on for the several weeks of bad weather.

I continued to accelerate and the tyre/wheel eventually gripped and freed itself, now however i have the abs light and traction control light on ?? have i knackered the sensor? what can i do to get the lights off? the brakes etc all work fine and speedo works etc.

Well waddyaknow...

as luck would have it, i went out for another spin... at ignition the lights were still on notsure.gif , then after the first few 100 yards the light blinked :think: , after a quarter mile or so, they are off!! and remain off :thumbup: THANK GOD.

I kind of knew it was something simple, as i could feel and hear the abs still working and 'clapping' as it was supposed too.. brakes feel strong and positive.

My mad tantrams can now be diverted into a more positive perspective lol :lol:

if the wheel is locked up / or seized then the sensor will pick up that hub will be not spinning or pulsing the same as the other wheels and the ecu will determine it to be a sensor fault

as the TC / abs ecu is one unit then both lights come on

your lucky as sometimes you need a tech2 to clear it down or a battery reset

I'm just so glad that its sorted as I knew that if it was the hub and or sensors then I'd be looking at spending a pretty penny.

so so so relieved you would not believe it.

thread redirection here I now have the same prob been off work for 3 weeks and my battery flattened on week 2 so I charged it up and drove to get some new tyres when on the way home on game the said two lights everything I running move and free and the brakes are very strong but the lights remain on any ideas
ps will my code reader find the problem

I had a similar problem at the rolling road in July, and the code reader didn't see it. It took ₂ miles to clear mine off.

is it fuse 46 in the cabin I might try pulling that aswell

update, didn't bother with the fuse coz remembered that powers the steering aswell and had no prob with that.went for a drive this morn lights both on and tc and abs not working parked up for 5 mins went home lights off and both features working, came to work both lights on neither working don't understand why its intermitent ! any ideas appreciated

Sounds like yours could be a knackered hub......
